I was worried about what a first dental visit might be like for my almost 2 year old…Children’s Dental Specialists made the experience quick and easy! They have a wonderful, toy/activity-filled waiting room and the staff was very kind and patient with my little one throughout the cleaning/check-up. Being able to pick out a toy at the end was the icing on the cake. Definitely recommend!

Our first time visiting Children’s Dental Specialists and it was the best! It is always hard for one of my sons the visit to the dentist due to bad previous experiences with the X ray pictures, but the very kind and professional staff of Children’s Dental Specialists helped him patiently. The dentist was friendly and professional, and communicated clearly about the dental health of my children. We were treated with respect, the appointment started on time and the office was very clean. Looking forward to come back for our next visit in six months.

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Scott Seiler, DDS

Dr. Seiler was born in York, NE, and moved to Omaha in the 3rd grade after a three-year stint in Texas. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. He worked as a general dentist in Burnsville Minnesota for a year before coming back to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Scott completed a one year General Practice Residency In hospital dentistry then spent 2 more years completing his Certificate of Specialization in Pediatric Dentistry.

He is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance his skills to serve the dental care needs of his patients better and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.

Dr. Seiler and his wife, Jacque, enjoy golfing and going out to dinner together. In his free time, he loves going to sporting events and goes to most UNO Basketball, UNO Hockey, Creighton Basketball and Husker Football games. In the fall and spring, Dr. Scott enjoys hunting and fishing with his buddies.

Dr. Shayna Mattox, DDS

Dr. Shayna Mattox was born and raised in Omaha. She attended Westside High School and then completed undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. While at UNO, she was on the swim team and her favorite event was the one-mile freestyle. Dr. Shayna went on to obtain a Doctor of Dental Surgery with distinction at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln in 2013.

After dental school, Dr. Shayna worked in public health at a Federally Qualified Health Center near the Lake of the Ozarks and realized how much she enjoyed working with kids. Dr. Shayna then went on to complete a residency program at Nationwide Children's Hospital and received a Masters Degree in Pediatric Dentistry from The Ohio State University. Dr. Shayna was named chief resident of her class and received exceptional training on the most advanced techniques in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral disease for infants, children, and patients with special needs. Her clinical research was also published in the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Shayna and her husband, Dusty, are excited to be back in Omaha and enjoy any sporting event, but especially Husker football and UNO hockey (Fun Fact! Their first date was at a UNO hockey game). Her hobbies also include boating, traveling, and baking. She is looking forward to getting to know your family!
