Sedation and Comfort

Sedation and Comfort

Many children feel anxious before and during dental procedures. We understand that our patients aren't all the same, and we have great news: you and your child have options! Your child can experience dental treatment in a comfortable, customized approach with several different methods of sedation.

The most common forms of sedation used in dentistry are inhalation, oral, and intravenous sedation. While making dentistry much easier for your child, it is important to understand that they are not pain-killers, and regular numbing medications still prove essential. But sedation will make every part of your child's treatment more enjoyable.

Laughing gas, an inhalation sedative, brings one of the safest and easiest sedation techniques to nearly any procedure. Patients from young to old may benefit from a dose obtained just by breathing in and out. With no lasting side effects, it's a safe, simple solution to easing dental anxiety.

Anxiety about dental treatment can be tough on parents as well as children. If nearly falling asleep during treatment and waking up at the end would make a pleasant visit possible, then IV sedation might work for your child.
